Greetings fellow Transitioners,

This summer is going to be an exciting time for Transition Barrie. We are now “officially recognized” as one of Canada’s fifteen Transition Town initiatives. There is still a lot of ground to cover, but “Transition Barrie” is starting to take shape.

Coming up fast is the “Transition Oasis” at Barrie’s first annual Ecofest Ecology Festival. We also have a number of additional projects and initiatives underway. Our latest newsletter can fill you in on the details — it can be found here: [http://transitionbarrie.org/features/our-resilient-newsletter-march-2009/]. We have been in touch with everyone who has reached out — and are now starting to form our initial working groups. But we’re really just getting started!

** WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO OUR FIRST MONTHLY MEET-UP +
“GROUNDING” SESSION.

This will be a chance for you to meet up with fellow transitioners and other like-minded folks. We will be meeting at the BARRIE CITY HALL in the HURONIA ROOM on *this* THURSDAY, MAY 20th at 7pm. We’ll wrap up somewhere around 9pm.

(The room is located on the second floor you must enter off the Worsley street entrance into the rotunda. Take the stairs or elevator (located in rotunda) to second floor. The room is south west of the stairway and is signed.)

This is an informal gathering of all who are able to attend. We’ll have some activities and topics planned for discussion. But the main intention is to involve you, and everyone else who is able to attend: Let’s start building a shared vision for Barrie together.
