Nifty Thrifty Grand Opening
< Thursday January 21 in : Announcements
The Grand Opening of “Nifty Thrifty and the Barrie Free Clothing Centre” was on Saturday, January 16th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
There was A good showing from the Living Green Board and Transition Barrie to support the extraordinary efforts of Valerie and her band of volunteers. Councillor Jeff Lehman was present for the ribbon cutting and cake!
Congratulations to Valerie and Living Green for this exciting addition to the Barrie downtown.

Congratulations Valerie, You have come a long way. To find a place, get it set up, staff it with volunteers and fill it with great clothing for every member of the family is a real achievement. This is something that will be a real benefit to the Barrie community. Bravo!
Thanks for your perseverence Valerie. Without your dedication to this cause we would never have overcome the many obstacles in our way. Many thanks to Living Green Barrie for believing in and supporting the project and all the wonderful volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and really made the Centre sparkle for the Grand Opening.
Looking forward to more great programs as you get the Re-skilling classes underway in sewing, mending and re-purposing of used clolthing.
Can you mention where this place is? I was told it was somewhere on High St., and tried to drop off some clothes there today, but could not find it. Is there a phone number and address? Thanks.
No phone number, but the address is 110 Dunlop St. W.
It’s the commercial/office building on the north side between High & Toronto streets. Nifty Thrifty is around back, off the parking lot north of the building, on the north-east corner. (Next to KidZone, formerly KBS). You can park there or on High or Toronto. If it’s evenings or weekends, street parking is free but the parking lot is NOT.
